Rails Fall to Grasshoppers, 3-2
|
The San Bernardino Grasshoppers did just enough to sneak past the Richland Rails, 3-2, at Field of the Grasshoppers. San Bernardino pitcher Don Teehan earned player of the game honors. Today's win puts San Bernardino at 13-21, while Richland falls to 16-18.
Tied up with the Rails in the bottom of the sixth, the Grasshoppers got a boost from second baseman Parker Smith. With a runner on 2nd, Smith saw a full count fastball from Bart Gresham and hit a run-scoring single to break the stalemate and put San Bernardino on top, 2-1.
"There are no moral victories," said losing manager Paul Baker.
