The Glendale Herons picked up a win at Springfield Stadium, knocking off the Springfield Shooters, 5-3. Starting pitcher Mike Barrett was an essential part of his team's success. Barrett picked up the win for Glendale, going 8 innings. He gave up 3 runs on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 3-2. Ralph Horn earned the save, his 6th, for the Herons.
Ramón Hernández in the top of the first had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and the Herons leading 1-0, the Glendale first baseman hit a sacrifice fly.
In postgame remarks, Hernández said: "To all who've been doubting my effort -- I hope they saw this game."
With the win, Glendale goes to 12-21, while the Shooters fall to 16-17.
