Gómez drives in 5 runs as Shooters Squeeze Past Glendale
|
The Springfield Shooters beat the Glendale Herons, 11-0, at Springfield Stadium. The win was largely due to the efforts of designated hitter Adrián Gómez, who captured player of the game honors. He was 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 5 runs and scored once. Atila Freska, who went 7 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with no runs on 8 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 3. His record now stands at 2-2. The Shooters, now 15-16, have won 4 in a row.
