Deuces Fall to Polar Bears, 7-1
|
Billings catcher Fernando Trinidad was instrumental in his team's 7-1 win over the Virginia Beach Deuces. Trinidad, who is tied for 3rd in the 3AA with a .338 batting average, went 2-3 with 1 run scored to lead the offensive attack for the Polar Bears. Billings reliever Jesús Orozco was the winner. His record is now 1-1. The losing pitcher was Tzu-hsia Ong. Rafael Avelar recorded the save for Billings, his 1st of the season.
Rubén Ruíz drew 2 walks in 5 plate appearances against the Deuces. In the top of the first inning, he hit a sacrifice fly, putting Billings in front, 1-0.
"We did a lot of things right," said Trinidad.
Virginia Beach has now lost 4 in a row.
