Shooters Take Tight Tilt
Ken Aldridge never let the Richland Rails find their groove. Throughout the game, Aldridge relied on his bread and butter, his change up, in pitching the Shooters to a win. Aldridge went 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 1, and struck out 3. His record improves to 1-2. Walt Cooley earned the save for Springfield, his 7th of the year.

Also contributing to the win was right fielder Steve Ladner, who stroked a 2-run single in the bottom of the fifth for Springfield. For the game, Ladner was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.

"I like what I saw today," said Springfield manager Jacob Green, "and I can't wait to get back out there and do it again."

At 13-16, the Shooters find themselves in 10th place in the Menard's AA.
