Polar Bears Squelch Ottawa Offense in Shutout Win
Preston Connely pitched well, but the Ottawa Nationals still lost the game, falling 3-0 to the Billings Polar Bears at The Igloo. Jim Unknown earned the save for Billings, his 1st. With the win, the Polar Bears improved to 11-15.

Rubén Ruíz broke a 0-0 tie in the bottom of the sixth with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It put the Polar Bears in front, 1-0. For the game, Ruíz was 1 for 2 with a walk.

"We made a couple of mistakes," said Ottawa skipper Ron Mathews, "and it cost us."
