Nationals Cut Down Polar Bears, 3-2
|
Ottawa starter Travis Nelson pitched effectively against the Billings Polar Bears at The Igloo. The right-hander led his team to a 3-2 win. Rafael Peralta locked down his 7th save. With the win, the Nationals have a record of 12-13.
It could have been a different outcome for Ottawa, had it not been for Howard Fewell, the 24-year old left fielder . Fewell contributed a run-scoring hit-by-pitch in the top of the fourth inning to put Ottawa up, 3-2.
"Travis is tough when he's hitting his spots," said Ottawa manager Ron Mathews.
