Victory Pushes Sixshooters Record to 14-11
|
The Springfield Shooters and Westwood Sixshooters provided some drama at Sixshooters Stadium.
In a close game at Sixshooters Stadium, the Westwood Sixshooters edged the Springfield Shooters, 3-2. Westwood third baseman Ramón García earned the nod as player of the game after he was 2-2 with 2 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Westwood reliever Omar Casteneda got the win, raising his record to 1-1. Giovanni Mireles was tagged with the loss.
One important at-bat came with runners on 2nd and 3rd in the bottom of the fifth. That's when Jesús Rodríguez drew a walk. The Sixshooters went on to win.
García told local reporters: "We'll enjoy this win for now, but it's just one. We've got to keep it going."
The Sixshooters, now 14-11, have won 4 in a row.
