Grasshoppers Deal Thunder Hawks Painful Loss
San Bernardino center fielder Martín Placido was instrumental in his team's 6-5 win over the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks. Placido went 3-3 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Grasshoppers. San Bernardino reliever Héctor Valentín picked up the win to move to 1-3. Bernardino Neagle suffered the loss. The loss drops Ft. Polk South to 11-7.

Jesús Reyes was the walk-off hero for San Bernardino. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth, the San Bernardino designated hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring double to send the teams home.

"This wasn't a good win," said Reyes. "It was a great win."
