Polar Bears Turn Back Glendale, 6-4
|
Billings shortstop Nathan Landrum made his presence felt in the 6-4 Polar Bears triumph over the Glendale Herons. Landrum went 2-2 with 2 singles and a walk. Billings reliever Rafael Avelar was credited with the win, to go to 1-2. David Davis took the loss for Glendale. Jim Unknown, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 1st save.
One important at-bat came with the bases loaded in the top of the seventh. That's when Vicente Quezada hit a sacrifice fly. The Polar Bears went on to win.
"You can't take yourself too seriously," Landrum told the Billings Chronicle. "But at the end of the day, we do play to win ballgames."
Glendale, at 5-13, is off to a poor start in 2026.
