Sergio Rodríguez had a good game, even if his team, the Myrtle Beach Mermen, did not. Myrtle Beach dropped a 6-4 decision to Richland at Tennille Grounds. Richland reliever Carlos Barajas picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Jim Unknown absorbed the loss. Roberto Guillén locked down his 3rd save.
Michael Bradshaw had the most critical at-bat for Richland, coming in the top of the ninth inning with two out and runners on 2nd and 3rd. Bradshaw hit a full count fastball from Jim Unknown for a 2-run double. It put Richland in front, 6-4.
"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Bradshaw said.
Richland improves to 9-6 as they look to defend their championship.
