Rails Come Up Short at Myrtle Beach
Myrtle Beach beat Richland at Tennille Grounds, escaping with a 10-5 win. The win in large part was due to first baseman Lupo Cotto, who earned player of the game honors. He was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 3 runs. With the loss, Richland falls to 7-6.

Myrtle Beach grabbed control in the bottom of the seventh. With two out and runners on 1st and 2nd, Sergio Pérez delivered a 2-run triple, to make it 7-5 in favor of the Mermen.

"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling pretty confident after that win," said Pérez.
