Springfield wasted a solid 7-inning effort from starting pitcher Giovanni Mireles, losing to Richland, 2-1, at Rails Ballpark. The winner was Richland reliever Roberto Guillén, now 2-1. The loser was Anaías Pedroza. The Shooters fall to 5-7 and continue their unimpressive start to the 2026 season.

Francisco Avelleyra was the walk-off hero for Richland. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth, the Richland pinch hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring triple to send the teams home.

"It's great to get the crowd pumped up," Avelleyra said.
