The Herons had to overcome a fine performance from San Bernardino pitcher Manny Merico to grab a 5-3 win at Field of the Grasshoppers. Merico went 8 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. The Herons, with only their 1st win in 10 games, have not had much to write home about in 2026.
Santiago Ramos was 2-3 with 2 singles and a walk for Glendale. In the top of the ninth, with the teams deadlocked, 2-2, Ramos delivered for the Herons. His run-scoring walk put Glendale on top, 3-2.
"I felt good up there," said Ramos. "I saw the ball well."
