Losing Streak Continues for Herons with 5-1 Loss
The Deuces had to overcome a fine effort from Glendale pitcher Salvador Torres to grab a 5-1 win at Heron Field. Torres went 5.1 innings and allowed 1 earned run. The Virginia Beach Deuces, now 8-1, have been on a roll in the early going.

There was more than one reason the Deuces beat the Herons, but one factor was Carlos Pérez. In the top of the seventh, the Virginia Beach catcher came to bat and hit a 2-run single. It staked his team to a 3-1 lead.

"This losing is getting old," said Glendale manager Cristo Martínez.
