Jesús Mancía left his imprint on the 3-1 Ottawa win against the Myrtle Beach Mermen. Mancía, who was drafted in the two round of the 2023 draft, was 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Ottawa reliever Bob Reece picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Rob Rocha took the loss. Rafael Peralta earned his 4th save in 4 tries.

Mancía came through with some timely hitting for Ottawa. With the score 1-0 in the bottom of the fourth and two down, Mancía hit a 2-2 fastball for a 2-run home run. It was his 1st home run of the season -- and a big reason the Nationals managed to win.

"Can't say enough about our pitching," said Mancía.

The win leaves Ottawa with a record of 5-3.
