Capital District Red Knights starter Leroy Moody turned in a sterling performance against the Chicago Gold Sox, leading his team to a slim 1-0 win. The winner was Capital District reliever Luis Hernández, now 4-1. The loser was Jim Dixon. The second-place Red Knights are now 56-39, the Gold Sox 54-41.

The game came to an abrupt end with one out in the bottom of the 11th. On a pitch from Jim Dixon, Sergio Ortíz hit a sacrifice fly. It gave Capital District the 1-0 walk-off win.

"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Capital District manager Don Lookingbill. "It's usually not just one thing."
