Flamingos Prevail, 5-3, Over Capital District
|
The Las Vegas Flamingos topped the Capital District Red Knights, 5-3, with John Aston playing a big role. Aston went 2 for 3 with a home run and a double, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Flamingos in the win. Las Vegas reliever Joey McCarthy picked up the win to move to 3-0. Terry King suffered the loss. Shunen Takahashi was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 6 of 6 save opportunities.
Aston had a game-changing home run in the top of the fifth. On a 1-0 fastball from Terry King, he banged a grand slam home run to left-center, giving the Flamingos a 5-1 lead. It was the 6th home run of the year for Aston.
"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Capital District manager Don Lookingbill said following the tough loss.
The Flamingos bumped their record to 51-37 with this latest triumph.
