Evergreens Squelch Las Vegas Offense in Shutout Win
|
The Portland Evergreens defeated the Las Vegas Flamingos, 6-0. Earning player of the game honors was first baseman José López, who was 2 for 2 with a home run and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Portland's record now stands at 27-43, placing them 11th in the Division III.
It could have been a different outcome for Portland, had it not been for António González, the 22-year old shortstop . González contributed a bases-clearing double in the bottom of the fourth inning to put Portland up, 4-0.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," López said after the game.
