Victory Over Pandas Takes Chicago to 40-24
|
The Chicago Gold Sox scored a 3-2 win versus the Montana Pandas at Gold Sox Field. Chicago pitcher Raúl Areola nabbed top player honors in the tight contest. The winning pitcher was Areola, now 6-5. He tossed 6.2 innings of 2-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 9. The Gold Sox own a robust 40-24 mark.
Also having an impact was third baseman Matt Love, who stroked a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fifth for Chicago. For the game, Love went 1-3 with a walk.
"We've got a great group of guys," Love said, "and we're having fun right now."
