Republics Lose to Red Knights, 8-4
The Capital District Red Knights defeated the New Amsterdam Republics, 8-4, in Third League action at Dutch Master Park. Barry Dempsey received player of the game honors. The 7-year veteran was 3-5 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 3 times. Oswaldo Mobray recorded the save for Capital District, his 1st of the season. The Red Knights saw their win-loss record go to 40-24. At the same time, the Republics fall to 33-31.

One important at-bat came with runners on 2nd and 3rd in the top of the fourth. That's when Francisco Sánchez drew a walk. The Red Knights went on to win.

In comments to the Capital District Daily, Sánchez admitted that he doesn't always push himself. "But the results," he said, "speak for themselves."
