Flamingos Saddle Gold Sox with 9-4 Loss
|
Melvin Castro did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Chicago Gold Sox from losing, 9-4, to the Las Vegas Flamingos at The Strip. Castro went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Jesús Tejeda earned the win to go to 7-3. He allowed 1 earned run on 6 hits, with 1 walk and 5 strikeouts. Christian Pitts nailed down his 1st save.
Terry Sylvester, who is a two-time Gold Glove winner, aided the Las Vegas cause with a run-scoring hit-by-pitch in the bottom of the second. For the game, the center fielder was 1 for 3 with a hit by pitch.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Sylvester.
The Flamingos' win now puts them at 36-25.
