Hawks Lose to Legion in Walk Off
|
"Getting ahead of the hitters is the key," said Horiuchi.
The Kingston Township Legion picked up a win at Cloverdale Legion Park, knocking off the Chicago Hawks, 4-3. Starting pitcher Shigemasa Horiuchi was an essential part of his team's success. With the win, Kingston Township goes to 24-34, while the Hawks fall to 14-44.
Ye Der was the walk-off hero for Kingston Township. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth, the Kingston Township right fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling pretty confident after that win," said Horiuchi.
