Evergreens Need Extra Frames to Get Past Red Knights
|
Portland second baseman Roy Herring made his presence felt in the 4-3 Evergreens triumph over the Capital District Red Knights. Herring was 3-5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Vincente Ortíz picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 3-4. Oswaldo Mobray was tagged with the loss. The Evergreens improve their record to 18-31 with the win over Capital District.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth. That's when Portland center fielder Eddie Ménard, facing Oswaldo Mobray, had a run-scoring single. It gave the Evergreens the 4-3 win.
"Exhilarating win," said Ménard.
