Kingston Township Legion starter Jon Briddon turned in a top-notch performance against the New Amsterdam Republics at Cloverdale Legion Park. The result was a win for the Legion, 3-1. In 8.1 innings, Briddon surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 4. He allowed 1 run. Il-young Kim was credited with the save for Kingston Township, his 1st of the season.

Jim Scott aided the Kingston Township cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the third baseman drove in one run.

"It's a mindset," said Briddon. "Just trying to do your job, trying to be consistent."

The 11th-place Republics have dropped 5 straight games.
