Grey Wolves Score Late, Top Athletic Club KC, 3-2
|
The Vancouver Grey Wolves got a stellar effort from pitcher Nelle Liefting, helped Vancouver score a 3-2 win over the visiting Athletic Club KC. Vancouver reliever Alfonso Vera picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Ole Kos was saddled with the loss. Burt Booth earned the save for Vancouver, his 1st of the year.
Late in the game, right fielder Rick Harrison had a big at-bat for Vancouver. In the bottom of the eighth, he hit a run-scoring single off Ole Kos. The play gave the Grey Wolves a 3-2 lead.
Said Vancouver manager David Krause: "I tell our guys all the time: 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction.'"
The Vancouver Grey Wolves, now 2-4, have not found much traction so far in 2026.
