|
With shortstop Jason Compton leading the charge, the Royse City Targaryens defeated the Plymouth Rocks, 5-3, at Royse City Stadium. Compton was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. With the loss, Plymouth sinks to 3-4.
In the bottom of the 7th, third baseman Javier Chávez gave Royse City the lead when he hit a 2-run double. The Targaryens had been trailing 3-2, but the two-out double off Plymouth pitcher Robert Neal changed that -- and Royse City went on to win.
In postgame remarks, Chávez said: "We put it together today and came out with the win -- that's the main thing."
