Palmer, Houston Prevail in Pitchers' Duel
|
In a well-pitched game between the Houston BC and the Vermont Lake Monsters, pitcher Bryan Palmer was superb. The Houston right-hander was named the player of the game in Houston's 2-1 win. Earning his 16th save for Houston was Decheng Sun. The BC, at 54-41, sit in third place in the Silver AAA.
The BC liked what they saw from Palmer. The 23-year old pitcher had a commanding presence on the mound, limiting the Lake Monsters to 1 earned run on 2 hits over 7.1 innings, and striking out 9.
"We were in it," said Vermont manager Mike Cunningham. "We just didn't score enough runs."
