Men Snatch Late Win
|
The Florida Men picked up a win at Pennsauken Park, knocking off the Pennsauken Flyers, 6-5. Starting pitcher Brian Scalabrine was an essential part of his team's success. Florida reliever Pat Pérez picked up the win, upping his record to 4-1. Manny Hernández shouldered the loss. Pedro Núñez earned the save for Florida, his 1st.
In the top of the eighth, Al Thomas had a big run-scoring single off Ángel Rivera. With the single, the Florida designated hitter put his team in front, 6-5. He went 2 for 4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once in the contest.
"Nice to get this one," said Thomas. "Wins have been hard to come by."
