Sun Caps Take Tight Tilt

Jersey City starter António Rúbio pitched effectively against the Vermont Lake Monsters at Monster Field. The right-hander led his team to a 3-1 win. Rúbio got the win, improving to 5-2. He allowed 6 hits and walked 3 over 8 innings. Rúbio allowed 1 earned run. Oliver Huerta was called on to finish, recording his 19th save.
Also making an impact was right fielder Brandon Reed, who drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the fifth for Jersey City. For the game, Reed was 2-2 with a double, a walk, and was hit by a pitch.
Rúbio called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
