Timber Hawks Get Past Ellenburg for 4-3 Win
The Augusta Timber Hawks did just enough to secure a 4-3 victory over the Ellenburg Fighting Dachsunds at Timber Hawks Ballpark. Nobody did more than pitcher Preston Vick, who captured player of the game honors. The win was credited to Arnold Berry in relief. His record improves to 2-1. Jim Unknown took the loss. Rodrigo Rangel, credited with the save, is now 11 for 12 in save opportunities.

In the bottom of the 8th, second baseman Anastasio Hernández gave Augusta the lead when he hit a 2-run single. The Timber Hawks had been trailing 3-2, but the two-out single off Ellenburg pitcher Jim Unknown changed that -- and Augusta went on to win.

"I found a nice groove out there," said Vick.

Augusta goes to 34-41, Ellenburg to 35-40.
