Martínez goes 3-for-4 in Fighting Dachsunds Win
|
Ellenburg played host to Alloway at the friendly confines of Dog Park in Ellenburg.
The Ellenburg Fighting Dachsunds trumped the Alloway Halberds, 7-5, at Dog Park in Ellenburg. Ellenburg right fielder Alfredo Martínez was named player of the game for his performance. He went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Ellenburg reliever Bob Baker was the winner. His record is now 2-0. The losing pitcher was Jim Unknown.
Ellenburg took the lead in the bottom of the sixth when Martínez hit a grand slam home run. His 5th home run made the score 6-5, Ellenburg.
Martínez called winning a team effort. "It's not the same guy every time," he said. "It's the sum of the parts."
With the win, the Fighting Dachsunds improved to 33-36.
