The Jersey City Sun Caps picked up a win at Psychos Ballpark, knocking off the Florida Men, 9-3. Starting pitcher António Rúbio was an essential part of his team's success. Rúbio, now 4-1, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 5, walking 2, and allowing 3 earned runs. The Men, now 14-53, have lost 5 in a row.
Also producing for Jersey City was catcher Ethan Miller, who stroked a 2-run double in the top of the fourth. For the game, Miller went 2 for 5 with 2 doubles and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said Florida manager Brian Atkins. "But we decided not to take it."
