Express Suffer 6-4 Setback
|
Wizarding got a terrific game from left fielder Nathan Tanner. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Detroit, 6-4. Tanner was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He was 2 for 3 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. José Ortíz finished to wrap up his 1st save. Detroit has a 3-game win streak, while Wizarding has lost 3 in a row.
Urayasu, Japan-born Yoichibei Sato came through in the clutch. In the bottom of the first, with the bases loaded and the Renaissance trailing 1-0, he hit a 2-run single to right to put Detroit on top.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Sato told a Detroit Today reporter. "Sometimes we need just to relax."
