Timber Hawks Beat Drummers, 5-4
|
The Augusta Timber Hawks beat the Tortolita Drummers, 5-4, at Timber Hawks Ballpark. The Timber Hawks got a fine performance from designated hitter Hugo Rampley, who captured player of the game honors. He went 3 for 4 with 2 doubles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Antenor Elizalde earned the win for Augusta. He lasted 7 innings, allowing 4 earned runs on 8 hits, while striking out 2. With the win, he raised his record to 3-3. The Augusta winning streak has now reached 5 games.
The outcome might have been different had it not been for Rampley. In the bottom of the seventh inning, when the Timber Hawks were trailing 4-3, Rampley delivered a two-out 2-run double for Augusta, giving his team the lead.
