Sun Caps Saddle Drummers with 5-3 Loss
|
The Jersey City Sun Caps did just enough to sneak past the Tortolita Drummers, 5-3, at Drummers Ballpark. Jersey City pitcher Chris Sommer earned player of the game honors. With the win over Tortolita, the Sun Caps improved to 29-21.
Eddy Baxter took Jorge Rivera deep with two out in the top of the second. On a 2-1 changeup, Baxter drilled a 3-run home run to left. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put Jersey City on top, 3-0.
"I like winning," Baxter told the Jersey City Herald. "I may joke around, but when it comes down to it, winning is the most important thing."
