Timber Hawks Walk Off with Win
|
The Timber Hawks had to overcome a fine effort from Ellenburg pitcher Severiano Duclos to grab a 4-3 win at Timber Hawks Ballpark. Duclos went 8 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Augusta reliever Ben Fleming was credited with the win, to go to 1-0. Sean Evans took the loss for Ellenburg. Ellenburg, at 19-17, has lost 5 straight.
The game was decided with no one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Augusta trailing 3-1, Chris Rice hit a forkball from Sean Evans to right for a bases-clearing double. Just like that, the Timber Hawks had a walk-off win.
"It's a thrill to get that kind of win," Rice said.
