Victory Pushes BC Record to 21-14
|
The Houston BC topped the Vermont Lake Monsters, 4-2, in USSL Triple A action at Houston Park. The player of the game was Houston pitcher and Odessa, Texas native Bryan Palmer. Palmer picked up the win for Houston, going 7 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 4-0. Picking up the save was Katsuyoshi Takuda, his 8th.
The BC beat the Lake Monsters in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the single Alfredo Mojica produced in the bottom of the fourth. Batting against Vermont pitcher Wally Copeland, he gave his team a 2-1 lead when he hit a run-scoring single.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Houston manager Willis Crawford.
The BC raised their record to 21-14.
