Men Continue Skid, Thanks to Vega, Lake Monsters
|
Javier Vega made an impact in the 9-0 Vermont win over Florida. Vega, who is tied for 3rd in the SAAA with a .901 OPS, went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. With the win over Florida, the Lake Monsters improved to 16-17.
Also having an impact was third baseman Zelmar Barajas, who stroked a run-scoring triple in the bottom of the second for Vermont. For the game, Barajas was 1-3 with a triple, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"The name of the game is scoring runs," Vega said. "We did a pretty good job of that today."
