Lake Monsters Knock Off Ellenburg at Dog Park in Ellenburg

Adrian Smith was instrumental in his team's 8-2 triumph over the Ellenburg Fighting Dachsunds. The catcher went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Vermont Lake Monsters. Vermont reliever Wilson Vélez picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Jim Unknown took the loss. Jim Unknown was called on to finish, recording his 1st save.
Vermont second baseman Barkley B. Cooltimes helped the Lake Monsters go up, 3-1, in the top of the fourth inning. With the game tied, Cooltimes hit a 2-run home run off Ellenburg pitcher Jim Unknown.
"We took advantage of our opportunities," Cooltimes told the Vermont Chronicle. "It's as simple as that."
With the win, Vermont has a record of 12-17. Ellenburg falls to 18-11.
