Fighting Dachsunds Deal Men 5-3 Setback
|
Ellenburg played host to Florida at the friendly confines of Dog Park in Ellenburg.
The Ellenburg Fighting Dachsunds defeated the Florida Men, 5-3. Earning player of the game honors was catcher Ramiro Rico, who was 2-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The Ellenburg Fighting Dachsunds have an impressive 17-10 record.
The Fighting Dachsunds beat the Men in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the single José Vázquez produced in the bottom of the seventh. Batting against Florida pitcher Carlos González, he gave his team a 4-3 lead when he hit a run-scoring single.
"We've got a great group of guys," Rico said, "and we're having fun right now."
