7-2 Sun Caps Win over Drummers Evens Season Record
|
The Jersey City Sun Caps downed the Tortolita Drummers, 7-2, at Jersey City Grounds. The Sun Caps were led by Qi-zhen Loong, who captured player of the game honors. He went 4 for 4 with 2 doubles, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The Sun Caps are now 12-12, while the Drummers fall to 13-11.
Loong had a game-changing double in the bottom of the first. On a 2-2 fastball from Pedro Figueroa, he banged a 2-run double to right, giving the Sun Caps a 2-1 lead. It was the 3rd double of the year for Loong.
Loong told the Jersey City Herald: "I don't know which I enjoy more -- being a ballplayer or the perks that come with being a ballplayer."
