BC Edge Timber Hawks, 8-7
|
The Augusta Timber Hawks got a superb performance from catcher Hugo Rampley, but the BC still won the game, 8-7. Rampley was named the player of the game despite the loss. He was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Katsuyoshi Takuda picked up the save for Houston, his 5th of the year. At 15-8, Houston is in second place in the Silver AAA.
Houston grabbed control in the top of the eighth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, Steffen Taylor delivered a run-scoring single, to make it 4-3 in favor of the BC.
In comments to the Houston News, Taylor admitted he's been told to improve his work habits. "But," he said, "I know when to take it to another gear."
