Jersey City left-hander Chris Sommer made an effective start against the Tortolita Drummers at Jersey City Grounds, leading his team to a 5-3 win. The Sun Caps saw their record improve to 11-11.

In the bottom of the fourth, Jersey City center fielder Alfredo Pizarro had a productive at-bat. With a runner on 2nd and one out, Pizarro stroked a run-scoring triple to right. It made the score 2-1, Jersey City. For the game, he went 1-4 with a triple.

"I tried to mix it up, keep them off balance," said Sommer.
