Victory Over Lake Monsters Takes Alloway to 13-6
The Alloway Halberds and Vermont Lake Monsters played an exciting game at Ballpark of Alloway.

The Alloway Halberds stymied the Vermont Lake Monsters, 4-2, at Ballpark of Alloway. Dennis Clifton, who had a good day at the plate, was named player of the game. He went 3-3 with 2 doubles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for Alloway. Jeff Hale got the win, improving to 3-0. He pitched 6.1 innings, giving up 8 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 5 and walking 5. Earning his 1st save of the year was Jim Unknown.

Alloway grabbed control in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and the bases empty, Juan Salinas delivered a solo home run, to make it 3-2 in favor of the Halberds.

"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Alloway Halberds manager Santiago Vargas.

The Lake Monsters fall to 9-10 and continue their wobbly start to the 2026 season.
