Victory Over Flyers Takes Jersey City to 6-4
The Jersey City Sun Caps defeated the Pennsauken Flyers, 6-4, at Jersey City Grounds. Jersey City third baseman Roy Williams was named player of the game for his superb performance. He slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. António Rúbio got the win, improving to 2-0. He pitched 8 innings, giving up 11 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 3 and walking 2. Darren Garland was credited with the save for Jersey City, his 1st of the season.

Williams had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a first pitch fastball from Dan Drew, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Sun Caps a 6-4 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Williams.

"We had the game right there for the taking," said Pennsauken manager Wilson Alvarado. "But we decided not to take it."

Jersey City, now 6-4, has gotten their season off to a good start.
