|
Houston BC starter Mike Owens pitched a strong game against the Ellenburg Fighting Dachsunds at Houston Park, leading the BC to a 4-3 win. Weston Fisher recorded his 2nd save for Houston. With the loss, Ellenburg falls to 2-2.
The game was at a stalemate until center fielder Jesús Villalba came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Ellenburg pitcher Bill Schneider, he hit a 2-1 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Houston on top, 4-3.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Ellenburg manager Armando Saldaña. "The effort was great."
