Piranhas Win Thriller, 2-1

The Panama City Piranhas walked off with a big win today at The Tank.
John Dempsey never let the Vancouver Grey Wolves find their groove. Throughout the game, Dempsey, who is tied for 4th in the PL with a 1.94 ERA, relied on his bread and butter, his curveball, in pitching the Piranhas to a win. Their 27-23 record puts the Piranhas 5th in the Division I.
The game was at a stalemate until third baseman Herman Hayes came to bat in the bottom of the tenth. Facing Vancouver pitcher Alfonso Vera, he hit a first pitch curveball for a run-scoring double. It was a game-changer, putting Panama City on top, 2-1.
Hayes described the clubhouse as "kind of rowdy" after the game.
