Drummers Rally For Late Win Over Hotspur Reserves
|
Tortolita Drummers starter Ricky Jackson was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Phoenix Hotspur Reserves, 2-1. Tortolita reliever Ron Anderson picked up the win to move to 1-0. Gabriel Hernández suffered the loss. With the loss, Phoenix sinks to 1-1.
Blair Sweeny drew 1 walk in 4 trips to the plate for Tortolita. The 23-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the top of the ninth. That's when he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Gabriel Hernández. It was his 1st RBI of the season.
"Can't say enough about our pitching," said Sweeny.
