Borbón goes 3-for-4 to Pull Rocks to .500

The Plymouth Rocks defeated the Pure Michigan Great Lakers, 11-2, at Plymouth Quarry. Plymouth first baseman Jorge Borbón was named player of the game for his superb performance. He went 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. The winner was José Salinas, who threw 112 pitches over 7.1 innings. The right-hander was charged with 2 runs on 8 hits. With the loss, Pure Michigan drops to 1-1.
Jiutepec, Mexico-born Miguel Rodríguez came through in the clutch. In the bottom of the first, with the bases loaded and the Rocks trailing 1-0, he hit a 2-run single to left to put Plymouth on top.
"We swung the bats pretty good throughout the lineup," said Plymouth skipper Henry Henderson.
